Leicestershire is well known for food and drink manufacturing, being home to the worlds largest crisp factory, and as the birthplace of the infamous Melton Mowbray pork pie.

This event, in conjunction with the East Midlands Chamber, aims to celebrate Leicester and Leicestershire’s food and drink manufacturers.  Alongside them, a panel of experts will delve into the challenges and opportunities within the sector, offering valuable advice and sharing their experiences. It’s a chance to connect, learn, and be inspired.

Joining the event as a speaker, Peter Gardner, Director of Cocoa Amore, will be sharing his inspiring story of becoming a self taught chocolatier. Peter has created his own brand and successful City business, focused on sustainability and customer experience.

Kate Lee, the Talent and Resourcing Manager at Samworth Brothers Group, who oversees both volume and salaried resourcing, as well as talent identification, planning, and reporting will be giving a talk titled “Attract, Retain, Thrive: Resourcing approaches for Modern Manufacturing“.

On the panel will be Scott Knowles, Chief Executive of East Midlands Chamber. Scott manages various capital and revenue projects for the Chamber. Chris Corkan, who is the Regional Director for Midlands & East of England, Make UK: The Manufacturers’ Organisation, will also be on the panel discussion at the event.
